This week the Relaxback UK Show looks at National Fitness Day and in particular and Flying Start Campaign from AXA PPP healthcare. There is also news on meningitis including advice on how to spot which is important because it is not always easy to recognise and catching it early can dramatically lessen it severity.
National Fitness Day, 25th September 2019, is a chance to highlight the role physical activity plays across the UK, helping raise awareness of its importance in helping us lead healthier and active lifestyles. Many local gyms are having open days and free taster sessions and many businesses are encouraging their staff to get active. This link will help you find an event close to you.
AXA PPP healthcare have their Flying Start Campaign which is encouraging the nation to get active before work or at the office, collectively getting National Fitness Day off to a Flying Start! I spoke to Eugene Farrell of AXA PPP healthcare and he explained what it is all about and how you can get involved and you can listen to him here. This is for everyone and not only their employees and customers.
Have a look at the AXA PPP healthcare Flying Start website to see the rest of their tips and some videos giving some thoughts on what you can do to get off to a Flying Start such as this one featuring Shona Vertue.
In addition I speak with Vinny Smith who is CEO of the Menigitis Research Foundation. We cover a lot of ground but very importantly talk about how to spot the disease in the first place. This is not always straightforward and covers more than the traditional 'rolling a glass on the rash' technique. Listen to this important information here.
Thanks for reading and if you have questions or comments please do make them here and please do listen to the RELAXBACK UK SHOW.
