Getting Physiotherapy As A Central Part of Health Teams and the CSP Conference

November 12, 2019 - Mike Dilke

I recently attended the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy conference. I spoke with the President of the CSP, Professor Baronness Finlay of Llandaff, who is using her input into legislation to ensure that physiotherapy is at the heart of health teams where they can diagnose and treat patients efficiently. She is a fascinating and forceful lady and you can hear her here.

I also spoke to exhibitors at the conference and you can hear about what they were demonstrating here.

VALD Perfomance - have a number of devices to measure how the human body is functioning and I experimented with Human Trak which gives a rapid and detailed report on how you move which is very useful for physios. I also speak to Tim Barsellotti, a physiotherapist with The Medical who uses Human Trak with patients and he explains how he finds it useful.

Mammoth - these guys make mattresses and were showing  them at the exhibition. Hear why they are comfy and good for your back here.

Naboso - Have insoles and mats that stimulate the sensory nerves under your feet which helps you to stabilise your balance, improve posture and reduce pain. Listen to Dr Emily Splichal talk about them here  - she also mentions barefoot running which she has written a book about it. She really is an expert on feet and all things connected!

Thank you for reading, if you have questions you can ask them here and please do listen to the RELAXBACK UK Show.
